The management team of the $42 million Fusion Superplex revealed yesterday that the entertainment venue will have a soft opening in April 2018.
A press statement from the company indicated that its employee recruitment process is ongoing and its corporate offices will be established in February. The venue’s owner, the Atavus Group Ltd., has met with government regarding the road work for the project to ensure that it is on track.
Its employee recruitment process, which started last year in October, has a goal of hiring 150 employees.
Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Fusion Superplex Selina Archer told Guardian Business in a statement: “We have met a number of milestones since our official announcement to the public.
“Our roof is water sealed, our equipment being delivered, our recruitment exercise in full swing and we are looking forward to the completion of our corporate offices in February.
“We have met with government to ensure that the required road work project, which will add additional lanes to Gladstone Road, easing traffic to our facility, is on schedule.
“We are on track for our anticipated soft opening in April of this year.”
One of the most anticipated features of the complex is the IMAX theater. The company has a license with IMAX for a period of 22 years, which was obtained in May 2013.
Pricing details have not been finalized, but CEO of Atavus Carlos Foulkes anticipates tickets to be under $20.
The 100,000-square-foot complex will also house nine theaters with IMAX Laser and 4DX technology as well as VIP areas, and businesses such as Starbucks, the exclusive SubZero ice cream franchise, a soft play children’s playground, arcade, restaurant and multiple event venues.
