The New National Party (NNP) understands the importance of Grenada’s youth, according to young entrepreneur Shakim Fortune.
“It has shown that at this time, it is the only party that has a clear and concise vision for us and our national development,’’ Fortune said Sunday at an NNP rally at the Tempe Playing Field.
The event, an initiative of the NNP’s youth arm, included live performances from Grenada soca artiste, Lavaman, and Jamaican reggae sensation, Romain Virgo.
“Let’s choose to secure our future,’’ said youth arm president Judd Cadet. “On March 13, mark your X beside the House and let’s choose the NNP to keep Grenada moving forward.’’
Fortune, head of Herbal Pleasures which he established three years ago, says the business has been doing “very well’’. His products are sold on markets in Grenada, as well as in the US, Canada and Australia.
“We’ve won an OECS award for the top-performing business and myself, as one of the top entrepreneurs in the region,’’ he told Caribupdate Weekly in an interview.
Fortune, in remarks at the rally, said the NNP administration has been “working selflessly’’ to revitalize the country.
“More and more young people are assuming the risk of starting their own businesses. We see record amounts of young people pursuing higher education and that, my friends, was made possible by a New National Party government,’’ he said.
