Cops stop $20 million cocaine shipment to Tortola

Cocaine valued at $20 million bound for Tortola was found on Wednesday at Queen’s Wharf, Port of Spain .

The drug which weighed 43.9 kilos stashed into 40 bags was found by officers of the Customs and Excise Division around 9 a.m. aboard the cargo holding area of the Elizabeth II.

The cocaine had been packed among crates of water and juice.

The Customs Division said that the ship was expected to depart from Port of Spain either today or Saturday but since the discovery it has been prevented from departing.
